The design team behind Nature and Melody aimed to create a multi-purpose dining room that would cater to a couple with a passion for wine and food. The result is a space that exudes elegance and offers a personalized experience. The use of natural textures and touches throughout the house creates an atmosphere of refined taste and comfort.
One of the standout features of Nature and Melody is the seamless integration of the forest element into the entire space. This design choice not only adds visual appeal but also creates a sense of unity and tranquility. The master bedroom, in particular, serves as a sanctuary for spiritual and physical rejuvenation.
The living room showcases a harmonious blend of gray and wood tones. The black handmade texture of the tile floor is elevated by natural solid wood curve steps, enhancing the spatial hierarchy. The wooden adjustable window blinds not only complement the overall aesthetic but also provide privacy while allowing for air circulation and natural light.
With an overall planning area of 229 square meters, Nature and Melody offers a seamless flow between different areas of the house. A sleeper seat at the gateway acts as a transition between the entrance and the living room, setting the tone for the forest-inspired ambiance.
The dining room, designed to cater to the couple's wine-tasting hobby, features stone-textured walls and an archway image, creating a wine cellar ambiance. To compensate for the lack of natural light in this windowless area, a soft ceiling and a light curtain ceiling with strip lights were incorporated to simulate different lighting scenarios throughout the day.
The Nature and Melody project, which began in December 2019 and was completed in August 2020 in Tai Wan, is a testament to the meticulous research and attention to detail undertaken by the design team. The use of original material textures, such as the large flagstone wall intersecting with modern humanistic lines, strikes a delicate balance between nature and contemporary living.
The design challenges faced by the team were overcome with creative solutions. The incorporation of the forest style as the foundation of the house allowed for a natural and minimalist aesthetic. The use of natural tones and textured slate walls, paired with simple yet sophisticated furniture, creates a unique and inviting home.
Nature and Melody has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
